LIONS PARK

Public BBQ

Lions Park in Riverside presents itself as a surprisingly well-equipped recreational haven along Pitt Avenue, where majestic old willow trees cast welcome shade over families enjoying the facilities. The barbecue area anchors a collection of amenities that punches above its weight for such a quiet location, featuring clean facilities alongside a children's playground, off-leash dog park, and basketball half-court. Cyclists appreciate the dedicated bike track, while the expansive grassy areas accommodate everything from cricket matches to casual ball games. The park's seasonal character emerges during Tasmania's warmer months when the dog park becomes rather populated with flies, making visits less ideal for longer-haired canines. While maintenance standards can fluctuate, with occasional concerns about table availability and general upkeep, the combination of sporting facilities, shaded picnic spots, and convenient toilets makes this a practical choice for family outings. The occasional food van adds an unexpected bonus to visits.
